On Thursday, Feb. 27, UVA Police issued an emergency alert about an active attacker with a knife near 100 Emmet St. S., across from Alumni Hall.
The suspect was initially described as a white man wearing a red hoodie and blue sweatpants. Later updates described him wearing a white T-shirt, blue sweatpants, and white shoes.
The alert, posted at 5:03 p.m., advised students and staff to shelter in place, marking the second such incident this week.
Earlier this week, the campus was locked down as police searched for a suspect who was believed to have left the area after a few hours.
As of now, there are no reports of injuries related to the incident. University officials are urging anyone with information to contact UVA Police immediately.
